Swimming Pool Disinfection

There are various methods to disinfect pool water. The common method is to use chlorine; either chlorine gas or liquid sodium hypochlorite .

SaltClean have concentrated all their expertise, experience and development to obtain the safest method of disinfection, namely using salt to clean the pool water.

They have developed technology and equipment for disinfecting swimming pools of all sizes. From small private swimming pools to water parks.

From a safety aspect, the salt technology has no competition. It is safe to transport and safe to handle. Pool attendants and technicians do not have to handle chlorine tanks, and understand the health and safety labelling of hazardous materials. Instead you use salt.

Protective gloves and goggles are not necessary, and special storage rooms for chlorine are not needed. SaltClean products produce sodium hypochlorite disinfectant directly in the pool or locally in the filter room.

The principle is not complicated

The technology to disinfect pool water using salt is based on simple fundamental physics, we even learn that in school. Most people remember the experiment with two electrodes in a liquid that conduct electricity. Electrolysis is a reliable principle that is ideal for disinfecting pool water.

Salt + Water + DC = sodium hypochlorite

A small amount of hydrogen is produced in the electrolysis of salt and water, the same principle as when the batteries in an electric truck are being charged.

SaltClean have a safe method for neutralizing the gas.

Whether the pool has fresh or salt water, and regardless of size, SaltClean can  offer the salt technology and products to disinfect swimming pools either newly built or renovated from private pools to big adventure parks.

xPrivate Pools

BALNEO SG12 & BALNEO SG20

SG12 is the perfect choice for private saltwater swimming pools with 15–70 m3 of water.

The cell is mounted directly on the main pipe and is automatically cleaned by reversing the poles on the electrodes – a comfortable and easy way to clean pool water. It is important that the salt concentration of the pool water is above 0.4%.

For lager privet swimming pools 30–100 m3 of water there is a the SG20 with higher capacity.

xPublic Fresh Water Pools

ONLINE 75, 150, 250, 500 & 1000

OnLine is best suited for pool facilities aiming for storage free hypochlorite production and water treatment plants.

The salt chlorinator does not take up much space and is easily mounted in the pool facility’s filter room. It produces hypochlorite from the municipal water supply and a saturated salt solution. The hypochlorite is then fed directly into the main pipe supplying water to the pool.

BUFFERED 75, 150, 250, 500 & 1000 B

The Buffered system is the salt chlorinator best suited for pools with varied hypochlorite requirements.

This model makes it easy to regulate the hypochlorite production volume.

The Buffer system is mounted in the filter room and produces hypochlorite from the municipal water supply and a saturated salt solution. Hypochlorite is then stored in a storage tank and supplied on demand to the main pool pipe. The concentration of hypochlorite delivered by the Buffer system is <0.8%.

xPublic Salt Water Pools

INLINE IR 50, 100, 200, 400 & 600 IR

IR is the obvious choice for a facility where the pool water has a low level lime, iron and other minerals.

The cell is mounted close to the main pipe and is automatically cleaned by reversing the poles on the electrodes – a comfortable and easy way to clean pool water.

INLINE AC 50, 100, 200, 400 & 800 AC

If the pool water has high levels of lime, iron and other minerals we recommend installing an AC model.

The cell in the AC model is mounted close to the main pipe. From the main pipe a part of the water flow is diverted through the cell where the water is chlorinated and then fed back to the main pipe.

The AC model is cleaned automatically with a hydrochloric acid solution of about 5-9%. It is important that the pool water has a salt concentration above 0.4%.
