LIT Technology open channel systems are especially engineered for industrial and municipal waste water disinfection projects. Their high flexibility ensures an optimum performance for a wide variation in the quality of the water, depending on the level of pre-treatment.

LIT’s modular open channel UV units offer simple and reliable disinfection solutions, for virtually unlimited capacities. They meet worldwide regulatory requirements such as the European bathing water guidelines and the WHO guidelines for irrigation.

LIT UV open channel systems are designed and manufactured according to international standards utilizing the highest quality materials and components. Modern mechanical processing technologies assure consistent production quality.

Optimally designed multiple lamp array geometries and flow mixing will guarantee an efficient and reliable disinfection performance.

For installation in open channels LIT UV offers two distinct UV module concepts:

11MLP series horizontal modules can be used in UV applications with flows ranging from a thousand to several millions of cubic meters per day. These series are equipped with LIT low pressure mercury High Output Amalgam germicidal lamp technology. Lamps are oriented horizontally parallel to the flow, mounted in stainless steel modules.

8MLV series with the LPHO Amalgam lamps mounted vertically are used for UV disinfection waste water flow capacities up to millions of cubic meters per day.

The special arrangement limits head losses to a minimum.

Chemical-free: safe and environmentally friendly, no by-products

LIT open channel architecture: reduced design and construction costs

LIT LPHO Amalgam lamp technology: reduced power consumption, lowest operation and maintenance costs, small footprint.

Modular vertical and horizontal design concepts: high flexibility to  meet customers’ requirements. Project design tailored for optimum project performance according to customer specifications.

Accurate LIT UV sensors: exact dose monitoring and pacing.

Bioassay validation: no theoretical calculations but physical verification of system performance.

Automatic mechanical and chemical cleaning systems: eliminates organic and inorganic fouling of quartz tubes for a consistent disinfection performance.
